I'm back to write that everyone is arriving now! Of course, as I expected, the first to arrive were the Treehugger Norns. Polite and kind as always, they settled down by the fireplace where it was nice and warm. And, as I also expected, they brought along a couple of different kinds of little critters from their forest to visit us!
The next to arrive were the Dragonfly Demon Ettins, their ship all decked out in glitter and fun lights, followed closely behind by the Kunterbunt Norns (whose ship was about as colorful as they were). One after the other, everyone started filing in, greeting each other, making jokes and sharing hugs.
Everyone's unique gifts and "fun things" that they'd brought were set aside by the Learning Computer, for now, since we wanted to get greetings and such out of the way first before we started sharing and opening things. It was fun seeing the way everyone decided to wrap things up - the things from the group from the Capillata were neatly and precisely wrapped, while the things from our friends from the Banshee Ark were wrapped in leaves and tied together with string, for example.
Things changed a bit when the Sabertooth Norns arrived, though. Truth be told, I think we'd all forgotten just how big they are! They aren't really the type to like being indoors for too long, so they were quick to make their way out to the field, chasing butterflies around and checking out our Carrot Beetle.
Some of the other Norns watched the Sabertooths romp around happily outside. Without missing a beat, one of the Dragonfly Demon Ettins pointed out the kitchen window - "Hey, that looks fun!" - and suddenly they and a few others were running outside to join them, kicking around in the snow and... chasing butterflies some more. Well, you know how creatures can be!
I think once everyone is settled in, we'll start showing each other all of the different things we brought...
