And in another place far out in space. where scalier creatures roam...
The Grendels have never been much for partying, and their current leader, Frederick, had a lot to think about as he wondered what they might bring to the Festival this year.
It was certainly true that in terms of diversity, the Banshee Ark had a lot to offer. From lush jungles to hot deserts, there were all sorts of environments that different kinds of Grendels (and even some certain kinds of Norns) could enjoy! While it had once been a place for just the Banshee Grendels long ago, there were all sorts of creatures that now called it home.
But if there was one thing that was difficult for them each year, it would probably be the Winter Festival. There aren't too many "wintery" things on the Banshee Ark, after all, and the Grendels had quickly learned that while gifts of tasty insects were respectfully accepted, other creatures didn't exactly seem to enjoy them too much. There was one group on the Banshee Ark that Frederick could ask for help, though, and that was the Draconian Norns. Long ago, Norns and Grendels had been sworn enemies, but that had all changed when the Draconian Norns had been discovered.
They were still Norns, of course, but they had quite the unusual appearance - they were scaly, and looked like lizards or maybe even dragons, rather than your usual cuddly-cute Norns. They had different needs, too, desiring a different climate and a carnivorous diet. Though they got along well with the other Norns, it was more difficult for them to live together in harmony. They ended up finding the best place to be with the Grendels, a more scaly group that lived for the hunt.
The two Draconian Norns in charge of the rest, Brunhilde and Asutin, were quick to make a helpful suggestion - toys! Of course! While Norns and Grendels might live in different places and like to eat different things, surely there were toys that they could make that everyone could enjoy.
With that idea in mind, Frederick began searching around for something that the three of them could make some toys with, eager to impress the others when they would meet in a few days...
