The Winter Festival on Our Albia - Day 1

Home is a pretty cozy place to be, wouldn't you say? It has everything a Norn needs, after all - coffee, a fresh wedge of cheese, a warm furnace, a machine that generates cookies using anything you put in the top... what, you don't have a Quirky Cookie Machine at home?

Well, in any case, this is our home. Or, well, to be more specific, the home that was made for us! Welcome to Our Albia, a faithful reconstruction of the Albia where we once used to live. It's not exactly the same, sure, but it's close enough, wouldn't you say? Close enough that we can live happily and comfortably here, anyways. Not the most creative or original name either, but this is what we've got.

This year, we've been tasked with hosting the annual Winter Festival. To be honest, I couldn't tell you where the tradition started - we think maybe our creators must have played a hand in it, but they've been gone for many years by now. In any case, each year, all of us from different corners of the universe gather together in one place to celebrate a little unity! 

Whether it's ships landing on planets, or someone giving us planet-dwellers a ride to a gathering out there in the stars, we all try to get together once a year to celebrate us. And I do mean all of us - not just Norns, but Ettins and Grendels too, and sometimes even Geats! (Though they don't always show up... something about intergalactic adventuring...)

There's just one problem... while it's easy for those space-dwellers to just manufacture the stuff they need with their fancy space technology, Our Albia is a lot more rural... and what's more, our natural seasons don't really cause too many changes! The air might get a little colder in winter, sure, but we don't see gray skies and snowy days like the winters of old...

Oh, but wait, where are my manners? I haven't even introduced myself...

My name is Sprite, and this is my partner, Adrien! This is just a little journal I'm keeping to keep track of things while we set up the festival... and talk to you, I suppose, dear reader! Here's to hoping things go as planned...
