Crestfall || Birth and Death

Things in the Norn Meso seem to quickly beginning to wind down. As more of the first-generation Norns that started this world begin to die of old age, it seems the population of the Norn Meso itself is struggling; unlike other parts of the world where there are many eggs waiting to hatch, the Norn Meso has no eggs waiting and most of the Norns living here are already elderly. What was once a booming part of the world has turned into a retirement home...

The Aardvark Norns are suffering a similar fate, though they have a few eggs waiting. However, most of them have not moved from one particular spot in the Burrows, above ground... save for Fenugreek Geyser here, who has wandered off alone to the far left side of the map.

Elfgard has joined Ferris on the Bridge, and they've both also gone to the far left side. Though one might think they'd be bored or trapped, they're happy as always... immortal Norns sure are curious, and wise beyond their hours! (The two of them are approaching seven hours of age...)

At long last, on April Fool's Day, our first Norns from the vast reaches of the Warp arrive - these are Crunchy Cliff and Telling Einsteinium! Crunchy Cliff is a generation 1 Norn of a breed I don't recognize (but apparently using the correct sprites - perhaps a genetic breed?), and appears to have become an adult at the tender age of 0 minutes. A fast-ager, or perhaps she was aged up by hand? Only time will tell... Telling Einsteinium, on the other hand, is a generation 169 (!) mixed breed with a beautiful lilac coloring. Both of them hailed from the same world!

(If anyone knows what breed Crunchy Cliff might be, please let me know!)`

Back at our "retirement home", Light Conichalcite, one of the elderly Norns, becomes pregnant! It seems even in their old age - Light Conichalcite is Ancient at nearly 5 hours old! - the Norns in the Meso are doing their best to live on. But whether or not that child will have other children to grow up with is another question... aside from Esme the eternal child, naturally.

While going through the deaths in the Crypt, I came upon Impressed Solanum again. It would appear that not only was she blinking in both her birth and death pictures, but she sneezed herself to death! This poor creature...

      I'm curious, what is the genetic breed like? :o

    2. It's mostly just me trying to get familiar with the genetics kit, I was trying to make a Treehugger that was just a little bit tougher vs. bacteria and came in fun colours, but so far seems it didn't quite work as intended. :s

    3. Oh, that's neat though! I don't know much about genetics at all, but messing around with it seems pretty interesting.

      Tougher versus bacteria and fun colors sounds great to me, even if it's not quite there yet! I'd love to play with them if you release it!
